ABOUT CAT IN THE WOODS:
cat in the woods is a creative space rooted in curiosity, wonder, and exploration. What began as a passion project has evolved into a journey of discovery, celebrating the beauty of Japanese crafts through thoughtful curation, storytelling, and a deep respect for tradition and making. Their products are handcrafted in Singapore using quality materials sourced from Japan, reflecting a commitment to craftsmanship, materiality, and meaningful design.
Founder Anna Kwek is a designer and maker with a deep love for materials, textures, and colour. Trained in Industrial Design, her fascination with how things feel, move, and come together led her to establish cat in the woods as an artistic practice centred on exploration and making. Inspired by the care, respect, and quiet beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, Anna seeks to honour these traditions while thoughtfully bridging them with contemporary and experimental interpretations.

This workshop is part of The Good Weekend 2026 - a National Day weekend market created to celebrate the people, ideas, and small businesses shaping a more thoughtful Singapore.
Beyond the workshops, the weekend brings together local makers, social enterprises, independent brands, food vendors, and community groups who are using what they do to create impact in different ways - from supporting vulnerable communities to championing sustainability, local craft, and more conscious choices.
We hope you will take some time to explore the rest of the event, meet the people behind the booths, and discover how even the smallest choices can support something meaningful.
