What does Singapore taste like when you bottle it?

In this flavour-led, hands-on workshop by Myristica Hill, participants are invited to explore Singapore's edible landscape through the creation of a personalised dressing inspired by local ingredients and culinary influences. Drawing from Singapore's rich biodiversity and food culture, this session transforms familiar herbs, plants, and flavours into something contemporary, expressive, and entirely your own.

Guided by Steve Chua, participants will discover how edible plants can be reimagined into everyday condiments while gaining insight into Singapore's unique food heritage, urban farming movement, and the stories behind local ingredients. Part workshop, part tasting journey, this experience encourages participants to see Singapore's landscape through a new lens - one that is both edible and connected to place.

ABOUT MYRISTICA HILL:

Myristica Hill was founded by writer Laletha Nithiyandan and artist Steve Chua under the umbrella of Gastrogeography of Singapore. Together, they celebrate Singapore's flavours and edible landscape through artisanal wellness teas, botanical gastronomy experiences, recipe development, and creative explorations of local food culture.

Steve Chua is an experienced facilitator who has been involved in Gastrogeography of Singapore since 2016. His work includes creating botanical installations, curating recipes, and collaborating with hotel chefs. Deeply engaged with Singapore's growing urban farming movement, Steve works closely with local growers and cultivates produce. Through his workshops, he encourages participants to discover the rich connections between food, nature, culture, and place.

-

This workshop is part of The Good Weekend 2026 - a National Day weekend market created to celebrate the people, ideas, and small businesses shaping a more thoughtful Singapore.

Beyond the workshops, the weekend brings together local makers, social enterprises, independent brands, food vendors, and community groups who are using what they do to create impact in different ways - from supporting vulnerable communities to championing sustainability, local craft, and more conscious choices.

We hope you will take some time to explore the rest of the event, meet the people behind the booths, and discover how even the smallest choices can support something meaningful.
