Discover the stories behind one of Singapore's most fascinating historic districts while supporting local heritage conservation.
As part of The Good Weekend, our vibrant National Day celebration that brings together local creators, thoughtful brands, and social impact initiatives, we invite you to join a special guided heritage walk led by Yong, from The Urbanist Singapore.
The trail begins at The Foundry, located in the former Elections Department building, where participants will first get a background and deeper insight into the significance of this historic site. This will offer a meaningful and fitting starting point for a National Day heritage trail, grounding the experience in Singapore’s civic and political history before journeying into the wider neighbourhood.
From there, the curated walk through the historic Bras Basah precinct explores the rich history, architecture, communities, and cultural landmarks that have shaped the district over the years. Whether you are a heritage enthusiast, a curious local, or simply looking for a more meaningful way to celebrate Singapore’s birthday, this walk offers a unique opportunity to see familiar streets through a new lens.
All proceeds from this trail will go towards the Singapore Heritage Society whose work helps protect and champion Singapore’s living heritage through research, education, and advocacy.

Beyond the workshops, the weekend brings together local makers, social enterprises, independent brands, food vendors, and community groups who are using what they do to create impact in different ways - from supporting vulnerable communities to championing sustainability, local craft, and more conscious choices.
We hope you will take some time to explore the rest of the event, meet the people behind the booths, and discover how even the smallest choices can support something meaningful.
