ABOUT THE ARTIST:

This cover was designed by local artist Sher Yuan to celebrate Singapore’s diverse and vibrant food culture. Diagnosed with mild autism at a young age, Sher Yuan discovered a deep passion for visual arts early in life, using creativity as a powerful medium to express herself and explore the world.

From leading her school's Art Club to experimenting with digital illustration, pixel art, and photography, Sher Yuan draws constant inspiration from local museums, galleries, and urban culture. Every piece she creates reflects her unique perspective, growth, and ongoing journey as an independent artist.

ABOUT THE BRAND

The SPD Artisan Collaboration is an initiative under the SPD Sheltered Workshop that has provided employment and training opportunities for persons with disabilities since 1964. For over a decade, their team of craftspeople has brought their unique skills to creating artisanal journals and restoring old books, giving them a new lease of life. In addition to the book bindery, they have a succession of younger persons with disabilities being trained in leather-crafting, stitching together lifestyle products perfect as gifts for friends, loved ones, and corporate partners.
