Awesome Women Series

The Awesome Women Series was created by local husband and wife team, Priscilla and Shawn Tan. Inspired by their daughters, Andrea (aka Monmon) and Aurelia (aka Momo), they wanted their little ones to grow up knowing that they can be anything they want to be. There are so many awesome female role models and they want to give Andrea and Aurelia their own take on their inspiring stories - focusing on their struggles, how they overcame them and their achievements. Through the Awesome Women Series, Priscilla and Shawn want to inspire today's girls to be tomorrow's role models!

The Awesome Women Series pays tribute to female role models for young girls to admire and emulate. They emphasize important character traits that these female role models exemplified; success traits like grit, courage, resilience, optimism, perseverance, curiosity, strength and conscientiousness. Most importantly, they want to associate these success traits with being a girl.

The series will provide a comprehensive sample of female role models for young girls to pick from. Each box set will focus on a particular category of female role models, for example, leaders who exemplified Boldness and Authenticity, and activists who demonstrated Courage and Determination.

Priscilla and Shawn also want to inculcate in Andrea and Aurelia the value of giving back to the community, as they believe all of us need to work together to build a brighter future for the children. To play their part, they will be donating a portion of their proceeds to charities that support girls’ education and women empowerment.

​One of the charities that they will be donating to is Room to Read, a global non-profit organization for improving literacy and gender equality in education in low-income communities around the world. Find out more about their programs here!
