This festive season, slow down, get cozy and get crafty with us at The Social Space! As part of the Kreta Ayer Gives Back neighbourhood event, we’re hosting drop-in style DIY craft sessions perfect for families, friends, date days and anyone who loves making things with their hands.
Choose from three charming cardboard craft kits by Paper Carpenter and start on your creation right here at our space. Then bring the rest home to finish at your own pace, so the fun continues long after your session ends. It is a relaxed, creative way to spend time together and make something meaningful to display for the holidays.
Whether you are five or fifty-five, a craft lover or a “haven’t-made-anything-since-school” beginner, these sessions are designed to be approachable, joyful and full of discovery.

Craft Options
1. Little House Craft Kit
Decorate your own mini cardboard house to display on a shelf, table or windowsill.
Includes: Tall House (L140 x W80 x H190 mm), Short House (L140 x W80 x H150 mm), white pen and a wood miniature train.
Recommended for ages 5 and up. Guardian required for under 7.
2. Embroidered Christmas Ornament Kit
Hand-stitch and decorate your own ornaments to hang at home or gift.
Includes: 10 paper ornaments, 2 plastic needles, 3 rolls of coloured string in a house giftbox.
Recommended for ages 7 and up. Younger children may join with guidance.
3. Winter Wonderland 3D Display Kit
Build a layered cardboard holiday scene featuring Santa, snowmen, elves and gnomes.
Includes: 3 A3 sheets and coloured string
Recommended for ages 9 and up. Younger children with strong crafting skills welcome with support.

Paper Carpenter is a Singapore-based cardboard design studio that transforms cardboard into creative and functional pieces using their Cardboard Carpentry method. Their products are lightweight, sturdy, and made from FSC-certified recyclable materials. From large installations to DIY craft kits, they make sustainable design fun, hands-on and imaginative.

Kreta Ayer Gives Back is a neighbourhood initiative bringing together shops, studios and cafés along Kreta Ayer to support “60 Lights, One Future,” a program providing mentorship and education opportunities for underprivileged children. By exploring the neighbourhood and choosing to shop with heart, every visit contributes to a shared spirit of community, care and celebration.
By purchasing a ticket for any of our events or workshops, you are agreeing to the terms & conditions as set out by the vendor as well as the following generic terms & conditions:
- In the event of low attendance, The Social Space reserve all rights to cancel/reschedule the event/workshop. You will receive an email notice at least 48-hours prior and be given the choice to attend the next event/workshop or get a full refund.
- If you are not able to make it for the event/workshop, please let us know as least 7-days in advance. We will refund the amount paid, minus a 15% handling and credit card processing fee.
- Photographs and videos will be taken during event/workshop and may be used for our training and marketing purposes. Participants with any concern should inform The Social Space prior to the event/workshop.
- Participant agrees to indemnify The Social Space and our event/workshop partners against any damages or injuries that may be sustained to themselves, or their belongings, during the event/workshop.
- The Social Space reserves all rights to seek compensation for any damage to our space or furniture, or injury to the instructor.
- The Social Space reserves all rights to make changes or update these terms and conditions whenever necessary. In case of any dispute, we reserve all rights to make the final decision.
