Weave Your Own Story, One Thread at a Time
Celebrate sustainability and creativity this SG60 with a cozy, hands-on weaving workshop. In this special edition session, participants will create a one-of-a-kind woven coaster using leftover yarns and fabric scraps, thoughtfully chosen in red and white to mark Singapore’s birthday. It’s a simple, mindful craft that turns reclaimed materials into something beautiful and functional.
Whether you're new to weaving or a fiber art enthusiast, this workshop is a relaxing and rewarding way to explore texture, color, and composition through slow craft.
Participants will learn:
- Basic weaving techniques using a mini loom
- How to work with varied textures from scrap yarn and fabric
- Tips for finishing and securing your coaster for long-term use
All materials and tools will be provided, including enough upcycled yarn and fabric to complete your own woven coaster to take home.
Come explore the joy of slow making and leave with a sustainable keepsake that holds meaning in every thread.
About the Facilitator
Novelisa is the artist behind Macramenian, where she tells stories through handcrafted fiber art. With a background in architecture, she brings thoughtful structure and intuitive creativity to each piece, working with cotton cords, yarns, ribbons, and reclaimed fabrics.
Inspired by nature and personal memories, her macramé and woven works reflect emotion through texture and color. Every piece is slowly and mindfully made, celebrating the beauty of handmade craft and the power of sustainable creation. Through Macramenian, Novelisa champions community, creativity, and conscious living — one knot, one weave at a time.
