ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jimmy Chan is a self-taught artist who lost his hearing as a toddler due to a high fever. His passion for drawing became a way to express himself and connect with others. Today, Jimmy actively champions inclusion for persons with disabilities (PwDs), including supporting the PwD dragon boat team as an avid paddler and advocate.

In celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday, Artisan Collab is proud to unveil an exclusive SG60 collection of vibrant, meaningful merchandise designed in collaboration with various artists with disabilities. From Peranakan-inspired insulated stainless steel bottles to eco-friendly totes and chic neoprene pouches, gifts from the collection will add greater meaning to this milestone celebration, with each piece being thoughtfully curated to support the empowerment of differently abled artists.

ABOUT THE BRAND

The Artisan Collab is an initiative under the SPD Sheltered Workshop which has been providing vocational training and employment to persons with disabilities since 1964. Through this initiative, exclusive merchandise, either handcrafted or designed by differently abled artisans, are thoughtfully curated to recognise and showcase their skills and creativity.

With the support of Keppel Ltd, the Artisan Collab e-shop was revamped in 2020, and saw an expansion of product lines, from premium handbound journals and hand-stitched leather products to collaboration with artists with disabilities to produce exclusive lifestyle merchandise, with each product representing the tenacity of the artisans to overcome their personal challenges.

Proceeds from the sales of these merchandise contribute to the sustainability of the initiative.
